City Council update - Mar. 21, 2012

Mayor Wall gave his monthly report. He reported on a storm drain issue in District 2. He also introduced our two new employees. Kris Heineman will be taking Elaine Waegner's place and will be over events, she will help with receptionist duties and assist the recorder. Wayne Harper has been hired as the Mayor's Assistant - Business and Economic Development.

A proclamation by Mayor Wall and the City Council to make April 2012 Child Abuse Prevention month was presented and approved. The proclamation was presented to the Family Support Center and they were recognized for their positive impact in Taylorsville.

Brett and Rhetta McIff gave a report on the Taylorsville Urban Iditarod. The council recognized the revenue that was received from the event. They raised almost $900 and $600 of it went to the YMCA.

Kelly Davis gave a report from Animal Services.

The council approved an agreement with Salt Lake County to transfer the Fire Station #117 property.

The CDBG block grant was discussed and the Mayor's suggestions were approved.

The council approved an ordinance to amend the city code pertaining to the employee appeal board. It passed unanimously.

A citizen spoke on speeding issues on his street - Hidden Cove Drive. He suggested speed bumps and administration will be following up with him.
