New Restaurant Chain Comes to Utah!

Taylorsville City announced today that FREEBIRDS World Burrito Co. is coming to Utah! Their first location will be at 5419 South Redwood Road in Taylorsville.

After a contest on the city’s social media, residents made over 150 guesses as to which new restaurant would be coming to the state. The first three people who guessed the correct restaurant won a free meal when the new restaurant opens in October. (See winners below)

Mark McKay and Chris Beck-McKay of MC Food Service committed to build 10 Freebirds locations in Utah, beginning with Taylorsville. “We can't think of a better location to open our first FREEBIRDS World Burrito restaurant than in Taylorsville,” said Beck-McKay. “Taylorsville is centrally located, easy to access, and the intersection that we are opening our restaurant on is the busiest intersection in the State of Utah.”

The franchise owners were drawn to the unique way FREEBIRDS does business. The restaurant makes virtually everything from scratch. FREEBIRDS has developed a cult following for its freshly prepared burritos, burrito bowls, salads, nachos, and more. There are over 40 fresh ingredients that customize burritos including grass-fed beef, hormone-free chicken, all-natural pork carnitas, hand-cut veggies and hot peppers, plus house-made salsas, queso, and guacamole. Guests choose from four sizes of burrito—the Hybird, the original Freebird, the Monster, or the Super Monster.

“We are excited to welcome this fun restaurant to Taylorsville,” said Mayor Jerry Rechtenbach. “Our residents are hungry for additional restaurants in the city and we know FREEBIRDS will be a popular one.”
