"Did I catch a 9'er in there?"

Calling all HAM Operators!!

If you are a licensed HAM operator or would like to become one, we invite you to join the Taylorsville HAMnet in our communication efforts and share your knowledge and skills. Anyone is welcome to join this group of local licensed amateur radio operators in Taylorsville and surrounding areas.  The group provides weekly equipment trials, group announcements and can serve the community’s communication needs. The net operates on the 146.940 MHz (tone 88.5) repeater and is held each Monday at 8:30 p.m. They have an “in person” meeting in lieu of the net on the last Monday of the month at 7 p.m. at the Taylorsville Food Pantry (4775 S. Plymouth View Drive – behind the senior center). For more info you can email

This group of HAM operators assists the city with some of our events like Taylorsville Dayzz and the Taylorsville Urban Iditarod. They will be vital to the city in case of a citywide emergency when communication lines are down. Each of these volunteers could be deployed to a staging site throughout the city to help with communication (if they are willing). We appreciate this group who so willingly shares their skills!
