Taylorsville Loves Veterans!

Today Taylorsville City and the United Veterans Council hosted the Veterans Day Parade and Program.

At 11 a.m. the parade began at the Rec Center. Special thanks to Brian Mullahy and Don Hudson who were the parade announcers.

We loved this second grade class from Vista Elementary who walked over to watch the parade. They chanted, "U.S.A." while the veterans walked past them.

Following the parade, a program was held at the Veterans Memorial on the south side of City Hall.

Congressman Jim Matheson spoke about his appreciation for veterans.

The Taylorsville High School Band, led by Doc Jensen, performed a medley of patriotic songs.

Mayor Jerry Rechtenbach presented our grand marshals with a commemorative flag.

Mayor Rechtenbach honored those who served in each branch.

What a wonderful tribute to our veterans and what a beautiful day! Thanks to the Veterans Day Committee for all their hard work, and thanks to veterans everywhere for their sacrifice!
